With the season 3 premiere of Penny Dreadful only a couple months away–May 1st on Showtime–production is ramping up in Spain!
While production for the series’ third season has been underway since last fall in Dublin, Ireland, the cast and crew are now in Almería, Spain to shoot select episodes for the season. Shooting in the city of Almería in the Andalusia region, the episodes will follow Ethan (Josh Hartnett), Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), new series regular Kaetenay (Wes Studi) and Hecate (guest star Sarah Greene) as they battle dark forces in the 1800s American West.
Back in June, Showtime renewed the series for season three among profound support from network executives. “John Logan’s brilliant writing and this amazingly talented ensemble continue to draw a passionate, global fan base into the meticulously crafted world of PENNY DREADFUL,” said network head David Nevins. “Together with our wonderful partners at Sky Atlantic, we’re excited to see what new haunts John and his team have in store for season three.”
The new season will premiere on Sunday, May 1st at 10 p.m. ET/PT on-air, on demand and over the internet.
