“We wanted this whole show to feel kind of messy and rebellious and different, and this was one way to help push that along.” – Ann Kline (Music Supervisor, Shameless)
By the end of every season of Shameless, my playlist is loaded with a dozen or so new songs I discovered thanks to the talents of music supervisor Ann Kline. In the first season, it was The High Strung and Spoon; in the second season, it was Lupe Fiasco and Joshua Radin; in the third season, it was The Lisps and Have Nots to name just a few. Even though the fourth season of Shameless still ranks as my favorite season for discovering new music season seven didn’t do too shabby in the music department.
The season premiere alone held so many morsels of goodness I almost wrote, “every song from the season premiere.” I didn’t, but I was tempted too. Below are just a few of the songs that grabbed my attention in season seven.
